Press Room hosts Digital Works event

Event: Digital Works #14: Creating accessible digital experiences

Organisation: Substrakt

Room: Press room

Layout: Theatre/Seminar style

People: 40

On 6th September we were excited to host the first in-person Digital Works event for almost three years.

Digital Works, which is run by our resident company Substrakt, is a regular programme of content and events exploring a range of digital-related things. It was set up to provide a forum for people to collectively learn from digital successes (and failures), discuss emerging trends and keep up to date with important news, products and innovations from the digital world.

The event, which was focused on creating accessible digital experiences, was held in our Press Room (named after the beautifully restored rolling machine that sits in the corner). The room  was set up in a theatre/seminar style layout to accommodate 40 people who heard talks from three accessibility specialists.

Ash Mann, Managing Director of Substrakt told us: “It was great to finally meet up in person again and The Jointworks provided a perfect events space for it”.

Digital Works events also involve breakout discussions where attendees divide into smaller groups, so the Press Room, along with two other meeting rooms at the Jointworks, were set up to facilitate these sessions.

“We had everything we needed to run a successful event; it’s a really interesting space, newly renovated with high spec AV equipment, and we had use of the kitchen and outdoor area too where we had some drinks at a social afterwards. The feedback from delegates was really positive – we’re looking forward to the next one already”.
